The Future of Recycling

...in Thunder Bay.

As a community, we’re trying to get everyone involved in recycling. We are really trying to look at the future of our city and how to make it a better and a greener place to live. It’s doing these steps that will create a better understanding for the community to become a part of this effort. We need everyone on board so we can make a difference.

The City of Thunder Bay will begin to place twinned garage and recycling cans throughout the city to help encourage recycling on the streets. Legislation could soon be changing making it mandatory for us to be recycling, so if you get into the habit now, the transition will be much easier. It will also assist us in starting to think of our lives as being less disposable and more about reducing, reusing and recycling. ...in Canada.

The Canadian Government is taking steps to make sure that all provinces have recycling programs available to everyone. As a country we should all be concerned about our environment and trying to conserve what we have.

We’re creating obscene amounts of garbage and while we do that we’re turning our country into a wasteland. We may have lots of land in this country, but it doesn’t mean we need to fill it with garbage. With all the garbage we’re creating it is having a big impact on the environment around us.

If we all work together in creating a more environmentally conscious country, we’d be paving the way for other countries to follow in our footsteps. Taking that first step into the recycling world is a start. The more we recycle the more it will force manufacturers to see that we want items to be recyclable. It will also create a need for other items that are not recyclable now, to be recyclable as time goes on.

...in the world.

Many countries have been taking the necessary steps to implement their own recycling programs. They recognize the need to start preserving the natural resources we have been using up. Many also recognize the fact that with the using up of our natural resources we will be left with nothing and prices for many things will get to grossly overpriced standards.

The new idea of closed material cycles is being praised as being on top of the game. This type of cycle allows there to be no waste from many items like aluminum cans. Aluminum cans may go from being in your recyclable bag to being on the shelf in as little as 60 days, with no waste because it is 100% recyclable. This is what we should be aiming for. We need to reduce the amount of garbage going into our landfills and start living lives of less garbage.
